Photo Booth pictures

Here are the pictures from the Rayban photo booth.

SXSW 2008

It's that time of the month again, when I notice that I haven't blogged in awhile. So this blog post is going to be all about SXSW 2008. No knitting or crochet content. Been too something to do any fiber work.

Day 1:
Started out at the Red-Eyed Fly--stood in line forever, almost passed out when my blood sugar dropped too low. Saw the Ravonettes, A Place to Bury Strangers, Spindrift
and the Black Angels. I really liked the Black Angels Then it was on to the Fader Fort at the Levi's store on 4th Street. Tried for and hour and a half to get in to the Lou Reed tribute show, but to no avail. When we left the line, I no longer had the buzz I had when entering the line, however, took some photos in line. This is Jenny from LA.

This is me and Lara. These guys were strangers I met in line, but taking photos of people seems to make them less pissed at you for cutting in line. This was Eric or Aaron...This was Paul

Then abandoned the line. Dinner at Stubb's BBQ. Yummy. Sidebar was our next stop. There, we met a band from Ohio, I don't remember the name of the band, but I remember their names. This was Kenny and Jenny.

This is Kenny and JamieAnd Jamie and CharlieNow for me and RebeccaAfter that at 2am, we went to the Children's Museum of Austin to see a band. No matter who I asked, no one could tell me who they were. It was kind of surreal and creepy seeing a band in the Children's Museum. After about an hour I had to grab a cab. And that was the end of day 1.

Day 2:

We decided on Day 2 to make up for all the money we had spent the day before, to hang out at the Fader Fort where they had free Stella all day long. Definitely took advantage. There we saw These New Puritans, Langhorne Slim, and The Stills. I loved Langhorne Slim, have since bought 2 of his CDs. Here are some photos of the Stills.

Other random photos from our all day at the Fader Fort. Rebecca and Jenny cuttin' it up on the turntable. Jenny with the shiny jeans and jacket.Me and RebeccaJenny and RebeccaI also got this hardback book signed by the author, for free. Then on to Fado's for dinner. Yummy shepard's pie. Then on to Pangea to see the Airborne Toxic Event, where the lead singer got us in for free. And I ran in to my old college buddy Charlie, who works there. Pretty good show. After that we moved on to the Horseshoe Lounge. Rebecca:

Gunner and Lukeand just Gunner:Day 3:

Waterloo Park for the Mess with Texas 2 party. There we saw Howlin Rain, Grand Ole Party, Darker My Love, Two Gallants, Atlas Sound, Neon Neon, and Black Mountain. Black Mountain was pretty cool.

Then off to Trudy's for dinner, the campus location. Home for a breather and back to the Horseshoe where I only had the energy to take this picture of Lara.Day 4:

Brunch at Woodland, yummy mimosas. Shopping on south Congress. Took Jenny to the airport. Bloody Mary's and mimosas at Freddie's Place, and live music, Josh Allen and the Whiskey Brothers. Whew!
